The spirits are aged in oak barrels imported from Spain, Portugal or America where they would have contained, Port, Sherry, or Bourbon to provides the whiskey its characteristic flavor. To protect jobs of American coopers, US distillers can only use a barrel once. Jameson’s benefit in that they can re-use these barrels several times.

The visit culminates in the Jameson Bar with the Irish Whiskey tasting session. Lorna, Gene and Roger were among a select group to be conferred official diplomas as qualified Irish Whiskey Tasters!
