Hi. I was born in Biddeford, Maine and grew up in Massachusetts. I attended Lowell Techological Institute on an AFROTC scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude in Biological Sciences in 1974. I was commissioned and entered USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training in February 1975. After a tour as a B-52 copilot, I applied to medical school and attended the Uniformed Services medical school in Behtesda, Maryland and graduated in 1982. After 32 years and 16 moves, I retired from the Air Force in June 2006. I enjoyed tours as a B-52 pilot, flight surgeon, research medical officer, Chief of Space Shuttle Medical Contingency Support, and hospital commander (Edwards, California and Elmendorf, Alaska). I completed my USAF career as Director of Aeromedical Qualifications for the Navy in Pensacola, Florida. I then spent 5 years at the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute in Oklahoma City reviewing pilot medical certifications. Lorna and I married on May 23, 2009. I retired from the FAA in January 2012 in order to join Lorna following her re-assignment to England.

I'm enjoying the free time retirement provides to pursue hobbies and to explore and enjoy this wonderful planet. I'm looking forward to whatever adventures and opportunities the next 30 or so years may provide!
