For those unable to visit, we've included this virtual tour. Construction of our approximately 2100 square foot rental home was completed in 2011. We are the first occupants of ‘Riveracres’ on Coulson Lane. There is a nostalgic prestige in occupying a home with an estate name such as neighbors who live in “The Bungalow”, “New House”, and “Coulson Cottage”. Thanks to postal codes (and GPS receivers), one can locate almost any home despite the absence of street numbers. Entering our front door, guests are greeted by a stairway leading upstairs. Immediately to the right is the dining and kitchen area with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and built in fridge. Off the kitchen is a pantry and laundry space which also leads to Lorna’s huge sewing room which also provides storage space. To the left of the entryway is the formal living room. Upstairs lead to four bedrooms. A guest room and private bath is always ready for visitors. We converted one bedroom into a home office. In order to keep our master bedroom a bit more open, we placed two wardrobes into the small bedroom off our master bedroom to convert it into a dressing room. (British floor plans do not include the bedroom closet space typical of most U.S. homes.) We frequently enjoy sunsets sitting on our patio with a small fire and a glass of wine. Our patio provides a peaceful view of ‘our’ donkeys, geese, ducks, swans, pheasants, deer and other wildlife and is a perfect spot to unwind and relax after the long summer days.
